Freeport, Grand Bahama Island – Junior Jori Davis scored 33 points in a
tough come-from-behind loss to No. 15/18 Virginia in the Hoosiers’
first game of the Junkanoo Jam in Freeport, Bahamas on Thursday, Nov.
26.
The Hoosiers (3-2) were down 40-24 at halftime, but powered back
through Davis as she helped IU open the second half on a 28-14 run that
brought Indiana within two of the Cavaliers (4-1) at the 11:20 mark.
Virginia came back to build up a 13 point lead with 4:33 to play, but
the Hoosiers were never out of it as they kept chipping away the lead
until 52 seconds were left in the game and Whitney Lindsay sank a
3-pointer to ignite a 14-7 IU run that was capped by a 3-pointer from
Davis with no time left to cut Virginia’s lead to five, 84-79.
